As soon as you see the bell tower of the church in Ložišća, you will know why it is one of the most photographed places on the island.
In addition to the stunning view, the bell tower is also known for the story of how it was built.
The locals asked the famous Brač architect and sculptor Ivan Rendić to make a blueprint of the bell tower, and when he brought a bunch of designs, they chose this one.
However, Rendić told them with a laugh that they did not have enough money because such bell towers were intended for rich cities like Venice.
In spite of that, the whole town took a loan and for years repaid the debt of the construction of this magnificent bell tower with wine and olive oil.
