Straževnik is an abandoned village located east of Pražnica. You can reach it by a narrow stone road from Gornji Humac and Pražnica.
The village originated in the Middle Ages and is mentioned in the Povaljska listina, so it is considered one of the cradles of life on the island of Brač.
Straževnik and some other smaller villages nearby were abandoned in the 15th century, and the population moved to today’s nearby towns.
Today, there are only visible ruins and a small pre-Romanesque church of St. George, whose bell tower is considered the oldest bell tower on a pediment in Dalmatia.
