A recent poll in the Brač Island Travel Info Facebook group, which gathers over 9,000 Brač lovers, asked a simple question: What was the main reason you chose Brač for your holiday?
Out of 135 responses, more than half of the participants said they were drawn by the island’s peaceful vibe, less crowded surroundings, and a sense of authenticity and lifestyle.
The second most common reason, chosen by 18%, was the island’s natural beauty and beaches. Another 9% said they returned to Brač after a previous positive experience.
Other answers included good connections, personal recommendations, food and wine, and cultural events, but all in smaller numbers.
The results reveal that Brač isn’t just a destination for sun and sea. It offers something deeper: a lasting sense of calm and connection with the local spirit.
That hard-to-describe but easy-to-feel atmosphere is what keeps people coming back. Preserving that character will be both a challenge and an opportunity for the island’s future tourism.
