Bol Summer Festival is a summer-long programme of cultural, artistic, musical, gastronomic and sports events — along with plenty of local feštas — running in Bol from June through October. It is organised by the Bol Cultural Centre.
The backbone of the programme is a set of recurring weekly events: Bolska litnja noć, a gastronomy and live music evening on the waterfront held every Wednesday, a series of classical concerts at the Dominican Monastery and other venues around Bol, and a cycle of summer exhibitions at the Gallery of the Bol Cultural Centre. Theatre performances for children and adults take place at the open-air theatre Teatrino "Dva ferala" — the same venue also hosts jazz concerts, klapa performances and book evenings. One of the highlights of any Bol summer evening is the Klapski đir, traditional Dalmatian a cappella singing along the waterfront.
The programme is further enriched by guest festivals: the Dalmatian Klapa Festival Omiš with debut evenings in Bol, Lovely Days – Festival of Art Film and Video Art, the poetry festival Odvalimo se poezijom, MEETeatING Mediterranean, and Graffiti na gradele, a festival of street art for young people. The summer exhibition season also includes shows at the Branislav Dešković Fine Arts Gallery and the Koloč Small Format Gallery.
The programme is updated every month — find the latest dates and details in our regularly updated overview.
