Pučišća has once again become an international meeting place for young musical talents. A new season of the International Summer Music School, one of the most respected summer music programmes in this part of Europe, has begun. For more than three decades, it has brought together pupils, students and young musicians from across Europe.

This summer, around 150 pupils, students and young musicians from Croatia, Slovenia, the Netherlands, Poland, France, Austria, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy and Bosnia and Herzegovina will come to Pučišća. Under the guidance of renowned Croatian and international professors, participants will develop their musical skills through individual lessons, chamber music, orchestral performances, masterclasses and public concerts.

For more than thirty years, the International Summer Music School in Pučišća has been a meeting place for talented young musicians, distinguished music educators and professional artists. For many participants, attending the school has been an important step in their artistic careers, with numerous former students now performing as concert musicians, members of prestigious orchestras and music teachers throughout Europe.

Beyond its educational role, the school significantly enriches the cultural life of Pučišća and the island of Brač every year. Public concerts by professors and participants are held in town squares, churches and other unique venues, transforming the village into a vibrant stage where music brings together the local community and visitors.

A special addition to this year's programme is the collaboration with the Pučišća Water Polo Club, creating a unique connection between art and sport. Young musicians will perform during the club's training sessions, creating a distinctive atmosphere where music and sport complement one another. The organisers highlight the shared values of both disciplines – dedication, discipline, teamwork and excellence – demonstrating how cooperation between culture and sport can enrich both community life and the island's tourism offering.

Summer music school

Over the years, the International Summer Music School has grown into a recognised international project, bringing together young people from different countries, cultures and musical traditions. This diversity creates opportunities for exchanging knowledge, building lasting friendships and developing artistic collaborations that often continue long after the programme has ended.

While the classical music programme is traditionally held in Pučišća, the town of Bol once again hosts jazz and vocal workshops, extending the musical experience across two destinations on Brač and embracing a wide range of musical styles. Together, Pučišća and Bol continue to demonstrate that Brač is not only an island of stunning beaches and natural beauty, but also a destination that celebrates culture, the arts and international cooperation.

The final concerts by professors and participants, held throughout the summer in Pučišća and other locations across Brač, will showcase the results of their work and once again demonstrate how music transcends borders and connects people. The International Summer Music School continues to play an important role in the island's cultural life, successfully combining world-class music education, international collaboration and cultural tourism.
