Beaches on Brač for Kids
Many well-maintained beaches near urban centres offer a variety of activities for children. From renting SUP boards, pedal boats, and kayaks to surf and diving schools, there's plenty to keep kids entertained.
Here are four beaches that provide safe swimming for children and a variety of activities:
Zlatni Rat, Bol
The first beach that comes to mind is certainly the most famous - Zlatni Rat. This long pebble cape is full of amenities for people of all ages, including children.
The beach offers numerous cafes, restaurants, and kiosks selling fresh fruit, pancakes, ice cream, and more.
What makes Zlatni Rat ideal for children are the Chimpy Adventure Park and the large Aquapark located on the eastern side of the cape.
Chimpy Adventure Park is an adrenaline and fun park for children aged 4 and up. It is situated near the beach in a pine forest, and visitors particularly praise the friendly and patient staff who cater to each child.
Banj Beach, Supetar
Banj Beach is located in a great spot right in the centre of the town. Besides its shallow and clear waters with a sandy bottom, the beach is popular with families due to its numerous amenities for children.
Kids can ride pedal boats, kayaks, and SUP boards, and there are restaurants, cafes, and a beach volleyball court nearby.
The beach also offers plenty of shade. The biggest attraction of the beach is the large Aquapark and water slides, where the youngest will enjoy themselves all day long.
Lovrečina Beach, Postira
Lovrečina Bay is located between Postira and Pučišća, accessible by a narrow and steep road that can be challenging for inexperienced drivers.
The beach is known as the largest sandy beach on Brač, where children can play safely in the shallow water all day long.
There are few other amenities or shade on the beach itself, but there is a restaurant and cafe nearby.
Vela Luka Beach, Supetar
Vela Luka, also known by some locals as Pliva, is very similar to Lovrečina. This shallow and sandy bay is great for playing and water activities.
The beach offers plenty of shade and has a restaurant with simple food and drinks. There are no other activities for children, but with the clean and calm sea, they won’t need anything else.

How to Spend a Rainy Day on Brač
Vidova Gora
Vidova Gora is the highest peak on Brač and the entire Adriatic archipelago, reaching a height of 778 meters. This attractive destination offers spectacular views of the surrounding islands and the Adriatic Sea, making it ideal for a family trip.
You can reach Vidova Gora by car, making it easy for families with small children to visit. At the top, there is an organized viewpoint and rest area with benches, allowing for a pleasant rest and enjoyment of nature.
Kids will be delighted by exploring and observing nature, and several informational boards are explaining the local flora and fauna. With a bit of luck, you might even see sheep grazing near the summit.
Blaca Monastery and Dragon's Cave
These two Brač attractions are somewhat harder to reach and require hiking, so they are not recommended for the youngest children.
Older kids will enjoy the adventure and the journey to these locations, where they will find amazing old buildings, excellent guides, and many interesting stories and legends about Brač's history - definitely worth a visit.

Brač Island Museum, Škrip
The Brač Island Museum is located in the 5000-year-old village of Škrip, and just exploring the village and fortresses will be an exciting adventure for the whole family.
The reason we recommend visiting the museum with children is the guided tour and the curator, whom visitors describe as the best curator ever.
Her presentation about the island's life and history spiced up with stories about local legends and myths, captivates even the youngest visitors. We recommend booking a tour at muzejski.skrip@gmail.com.
Stonemasonry School, Pučišća
What makes this school special is the fact that it is the only stonemasonry school in this part of Europe, teaching future master stonemasons to use ancient Roman hand tools.
Unfortunately, there is no guided tour, which would add value to the visit, but there are always students around who are happy to answer your questions. You can view many finished works and true artworks and see how a stone block is gradually crafted into a finished product.
Nature Park Sutivan
The nature park in Sutivan is like a small zoo with many domestic and local animals. Children will enjoy seeing donkeys, cows, rabbits, pheasants, ostriches, turtles, and many other animals that are friendly and eat from visitors' hands. The park also includes a restaurant and a small amusement park for children, making it well worth a visit.
