Summer in Postira once again brings a rich program that combines tradition, culture, sport, gastronomy, and entertainment for all generations. From late June until early September, this small town on the northern side of Brač turns into an open-air stage where something new happens almost every week.
Postira Summer (Postirsko lito) has been bringing together locals and visitors for years through concerts, theatre performances, children’s programs, sports competitions, exhibitions, and food events. This combination of local traditions and modern events gives the program its special character.

Highlights of Postira Summer Festival 2026
Feast of St. John (24 June)
Every town on Brač has its own patron saint, and in Postira, St. John has been especially celebrated for generations, even though he is not the official patron of the town. The Feast of St. John marks the real beginning of the summer season and brings together locals and visitors with music, food, and social gatherings late into the night.
Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel (16 July)
Our Lady of Mount Carmel is one of the co-patron saints of Postira, and her feast day is traditionally marked with a solemn procession and a large concert. It is one of the most important evenings of the summer in Postira, when the whole town celebrates together.
Postira Seaside Film Festival (21–26 July)
Over the years, the Postira Seaside Film Festival has grown beyond local frames and become one of the most recognised international short film festivals in Croatia.
The special feature of the festival is not only the high-quality film program, but also the location. Watching films under the open sky, with the sound of the sea and a relaxed summer atmosphere, is an experience that is hard to forget.
Little Night Regatta (1 August)
The Little Night Regatta is one of the most unusual events on the whole island of Brač.
The sailing boats are powered by a special summer night breeze known as “Gažul”, while Mozart’s “Eine kleine Nachtmusik” can be heard along the coast. The combination of sea, sailing, music, and summer night creates an atmosphere that is difficult to find anywhere else on the Adriatic.
Night of Hrapoćuša in Dol (14 August)
If you can visit only one gastronomic event on Brač during summer, the Night of Hrapoćuša would be a very strong candidate.
It takes place in Dol, a small village near Postira that looks like it has been preserved from another time. The event is dedicated to hrapoćuša, a traditional Brač cake protected as an intangible cultural heritage of Croatia.
Along with tastings of Hrapoćuša, visitors can enjoy local food, wine, traditional products, and a relaxed atmosphere that attracts many people from across the island every year.
Grandma’s Cakes – the sweet side of Brač
During the summer, every ten days or so, one of the most charming events in Postira takes place – Grandma’s Cakes.
Local grandmothers present homemade cakes prepared according to traditional recipes passed down through generations. Among them, the hrapoćuša cake from Dol holds a special place as the most famous dessert from Brač.
Simple, homemade, and authentic. There is no better way to discover the sweet side of Brač.
